We had a wonderful breakfast at Madras Flavors in Reading. The food was authentic, fresh, and full of flavour. Every dish was prepared to perfection, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out.

What made the experience even better was the warm hospitality and attentive service. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived.

If you’re looking for a delicious South Indian breakfast in Reading, I can highly recommend Madras Flavors. We will definitely be back!

⭐⭐⭐β˜†β˜† (3 Stars)

I have visited Madras Flavours several times. The food is generally okay, and some dishes are quite enjoyable. However, there are a few concerns that have affected my overall experience.

The biggest concern is food hygiene. On one occasion, I saw a waiter cleaning the floor using a strong chemical cleaner and then serving food without washing his hands or changing his gloves. This raised questions about hygiene standards.

Another issue is the weekend buffet. The buffet is advertised to start at 9:00 AM, but on several visits the food was not fully ready until around 9:45 AM. This has happened more than once and can be frustrating for customers who arrive on time.

I was also disappointed with the medhu vada. It did not seem freshly made. It appeared to have been prepared earlier, stored frozen, and then refried after ordering, which affected the taste and texture.

The restaurant has potential, and the food is decent overall, but improvements in hygiene, freshness, and buffet preparation would make a big difference.

Madras Flavours Resto had a nice atmosphere and the restaurant overall was good. The food was okay, but there were a few issues with the service experience.

When we arrived, there seemed to be some misunderstanding between the staff about seating. One staff member told us we could sit at a particular table, but the table was dirty, so we waited around 10 minutes expecting someone to clean it, but no one guided us.

We ordered idli and medu vada. The food was decent, but the chutney had no salt, which affected the taste.

The most disappointing part was the promotion displayed on the table saying you get a free drink if you follow them on Instagram. After following their page, I asked the waitress about it, but she said the offer was not valid. If the promotion is no longer applicable, it should be removed from the tables to avoid confusion for customers.

Overall, the restaurant has potential, but better coordination among staff and clearer communication would improve the experience a lot.

Jain menu was very limited, not so much options. Service was very slow to take order. Inside deco needs updating.

I love this place... they have a great selection of food including Dosas and starters. Havent tried their biryanis yet but so far i am very impressed!

Personally i think their masala chai is a bit meh, just tastes like black tea, but other than that i cant fault the service, the atmosphere or the food at all. Really lovely flavours, good price.

Food is delicious and fast. It's good for a quick bite. The atmosphere is not for very long dinning, floors could also be cleaned a bit more. Wide variety in vegetarian dishes!

Authentic madras flavours. If you want a realy spicy chilli kick then try the hot and sour soup 🥵. You have been warned 😅
The bomby thali was a good choice. Loads of different dishes on one plate. There was enough to share with my wife. A winner 👍🏼. The complimentry saunf (aniseed) was a bonous. Paan was good too, to round the meal off.

Madras Flavors is a nice and comfortable place, especially if you’re looking for South Indian food. The menu offers a good variety of dishes, covering the usual South Indian favorites. I tried their meals, which were decentβ€”not outstanding, but satisfying. The food was well-prepared, with balanced flavors and reasonable portions. Overall, it’s a good option for a casual meal if you’re craving South Indian cuisine, though there’s still room for improvement in taste.

I don't know much about indian food so I asked the waiter to recommend. He just didnt say anything. I asked what the other table was having, he pointed in the menu so I just ordered that.
Food was ok, maybe not my taste (white rice with some side sauces and bread) but service is absent.

What an evening today at Madras Flavours, Hounslow.
They were celebrating Chutney Mela. With 25 different types of chutney and sambhar and idli varieties.
It was an experience not to be missed.
Last day tomorrow.
We also had palak paneer and tandoori roti for dinner. The palak paneer was finger licking tasty.
And of course the warm welcome and top class service from Ana and Alisha.
Service always with a smile.

Best place to have tasty South Indian food and breakfast . Have already visited four times on weekends to have unlimited idly poori Vada dosas Pongal and sweet . Awesome chutneys, and good coffee - drink as much you can. Best place to enjoy either friends and families .
Food was delicious but waiting time to order a food took long and waiting to get food on table took more than 30 minutes.

Although I can’t vouch for the authenticity, I can for the quality of food, the flavours and value for money! Until I ate here, I had no clue about Tamil cuisine. I love different versions of gobi Manchurian and this one did not disappoint. Came out fast, great texture and a wonderfully fiery sauce. I love variety so ordered the Madras Thali. Roti & appalam (papad), lassi and a great selection of veggie dishes and rice pilau, then a nice dessert. Everything was full-flavoured and well executed with good spice levels right up my alley. First time with Poriyal with an unknown veggie with a texture like pumpkin but looked like brinjal or plantain. Really loved what I would call a kind of mushroom pakora, nice touch. Not expensive, lovely lady server. Tried to engage with management to ask more about this cuisine, but they seemed distracted elsewhere. I love that it opens at 10am for an early lunch. I’d love to come back and try the dosas.

Authentic South Indian flavours and great value!

We had a fantastic lunch at Madras Flavours in Reading. The food was fresh, flavourful, and truly authentic β€” especially the dosas and thalis. Everything tasted homemade and comforting, with just the right amount of spice.

The restaurant is clean and welcoming, with quick service and a casual atmosphere. Staff were polite and helpful in explaining the menu. It’s a great spot for anyone looking for pure vegetarian Indian food that’s both delicious and affordable.

Highly recommended for South Indian food lovers!

Food came up quick. It was nice and warm. Sambar tastes amazing. Idlis were so soft and spongy.

This restaurant initially impressed us with its Mysore Masala Dosa and Bombay Thali. The dosa was delicious, with just the right amount of spice, and the ambiance was cozy with attentive staff. However, while the Bombay Thali was decent, it didn’t fully meet expectations, feeling a bit lacking in flavor variety.

On our first visit, we found the experience excellent, but during the second visit, we noticed a slight drop in taste quality. Overall, it’s still a good spot for dosas with a welcoming atmosphere, though consistency in flavors could elevate it further.
